• Up to 50% reduction in accidents, injuries and fatalities (accident rate in Spaghetti Junction is now 2 to 3 times the statewide average)
• 22% reduction in time spent in vehicles
• $1.6 billion in motorist savings over 20 years due to less fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance costs
• Thousands jobs will be created during project construction.  During the peak year of construction, it is estimated 4,000 workers will be building the project.
• The project will open up significant economic development opportunities on both sides of the river.  An economic impact study is being conducted to assess this potential.  For reference, the Louisville International Airport expansion project that built the foundation for Louisville’s logistics economy has been shown to have attracted hundreds of new companies and 55,000 permanent new jobs.
